Scoville NeverStick Frying Pan review – is this the best non-stick coating ever?
EDIT as at 2017: new content is no longer being posted to this Website. Please contact the respective manufacturer/company for up-to-date information about each product reviewed.
How many times have you bought supposed non-stick pots and pans, only for the coating to disappear after a few uses and washes?
Wouldn’t it be nice to cook food without having to scrape it from the bottom of the pan, and without having to soak it afterwards?
Imagine if you had a non-stick pan that’s truly “non-stick”, that could be used without oil or butter for a healthier everyday lifestyle? How nice that would be!
Here’s the Scoville NeverStick Frying Pan review
Amazingly, the Scoville NeverStick coating does just that – it never sticks.
How do I know?
Well…
We bought the 28cm Scoville NeverStick frying pan a few months ago. We’ve used it pretty much on a daily basis and I don’t ever recall seeing food stuck on it – without using any oil or butter, the food never sticks.
That’s pretty incredible, right?!
It’s all to do with the patented “Scoville NeverStick” coating which Imperial International Ltd uses for all its Scoville products to give a quality cooking experience.
What’s Imperial International Limited?
Imperial International Limited’s a UK company with over 45 years’ experience in the homewares industry – a heritage dating back to 1908.
You’ll probably recognise Imperial from its well-known brand portfolio which includes:
- Ready Steady Cook kitchen appliances
- Spiegelau crystal glassware
- Spirella bathroom fashion
- Eaziglide, Eazigrip and Scoville ranges of technologically advanced non-stick cookware
Imperial prides itself on “…in-house design and innovation, high levels of product availability and excellence in customer service.” [source: http://www.imperialgb.com/]
What’s the Scoville NeverStick coating and how does it work?
Scoville is the first range to feature the NeverStick special reinforced coating. It’s the latest in non-stick technology to prevent food being stuck on your pots and pans whilst cooking.
With its patented non-stick coating, primer coating and innovative toughening process, it never peels or flakes.
The NeverStick coating’s been scientifically tested against a comparable non-stick coating, to see how long each would last when scrubbed with a scouring pad.
The NeverStick coating lasted an incredible 5 x longer than the comparable non-stick coating.
Not only does it last a very long time, but the Scoville range includes a life-time guarantee to replace the pan when/if the coating begins to fade.
Scoville NeverStick coating’s 5 x stronger than other non-stick coatings and includes a life-time guarantee.
Its superior features make cooking with the Scoville NeverStick frying pan much easier:
- 5 x stronger than standard non-stick pans
- made of 3.5mm forged aluminium
- quick and efficient heat distribution
- stay-cool Bakelite handle for a comfortable grip
- suitable for all hob types, including induction hobs
- suitable for dry frying without oil or butter
- dishwasher safe
- lifetime guarantee
What’s the difference between Scoville NeverStick coating and other non-stick coatings?
- Aluminium non-stick pans are generally lightweight, whereas the Scoville NeverStick pan is slightly heavier, so may not be suitable if you have weak or arthritic wrists. Having said that, I actually prefer the heavier weight as it makes it feel sturdy and durable.
-
TIP: BlessedBeyondCrazy.com’s article “Pros and Cons of Various Cookware” refers to non-stick pans (not Scoville NeverStick pans) which can become flaky, chipped or scratched. This can be potentially dangerous to ingest (or inhale the fumes released at high temperature) when cooking, as traditional non-stick coatings often include the chemicals PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFC (perfluorocarbons). The latter’s been linked to liver damage, cancer, developmental problems and, according to one 2011 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, early menopause. That’s why it’s so important to replace your non-stick pans when the coating comes off AND why it’s a good idea to instead use Scoville NeverStick pans which don’t flake, chip or scratch.
You’ll have noticed that many non-stick pans are easily chipped and scratched, causing the coating to flake into your food.
Fortunately, this won’t be an issue with the Scoville NeverStick coating as it doesn’t chip or flake. You’ll never need to pay for a costly replacement either as Imperial’s guarantee will replace it for free
- You’ve probably noticed some pans quickly warp under thermal shock ie, an overheated empty pan, a hot pan in contact with cold water or placed on a cold surface, etc.
NOTE: you must register your pan within 28 days of purchase to be eligible for the lifetime guarantee.
Warping’s unlikely to happen with Scoville Neverstick coating as it’s extremely durable. However for good practice, it’s advisable to always let the pan cool down after cooking before washing it, and never accidentally let the pan boil dry.
Scoville NeverStick’s a good quality, trusted brand range
What’s it like using the Scoville NeverStick frying pan?
As you’ll remember from reading my Stockpot review, it’s my husband who’s the chef in the family, so it’s his opinion that I’d trust when testing cooking utensils.
But for this review, I didn’t need to ask his opinion as I could tell he liked the Scoville NeverStick frying pan. Not only did he often comment about how fast the pan heated up and its ease of non-stick cooking features, but I could see the never-stick results for myself.
We use the Scoville NeverStick frying pan on a daily basis to cook all types of food such as fried rice, eggs, meats, vegetables, sauces, omelettes etc.
The food’s well-cooked, tastes nice and is healthier to eat without needing the usual oil or butter whilst cooking.
I like the pan’s sturdy arched handle securely bolted to the pan, which is comfortable to hold and never becomes hot whilst cooking.
The frying pan’s dark grey stone colour’s unusual compared to the shiny coloured pans most of us are used to seeing, but I really like it. The granite stone colour makes you think of strength and durability, which works well to remind you of the pan’s long lasting NeverStick quality.
I’m really glad we bought the Scoville NeverStick frying pan, and I’d happily recommend it to others.
The Scoville NeverStick frying pan’s ideal for those on a health-kick (not having to use any oil or butter) and for those wanting to cook great food without it sticking to the pan
What’s the benefits of using the Scoville NeverStick frying pan?
From the cook’s perspective:
- food doesn’t stick to the pan
- for convenience, the Scoville range has four frying pan sizes: 20cm, 24cm, 28cm and 30cm
- quickly reaches high temperatures with efficient heat distribution
- well-balanced, sturdy handle that stays cool and is comfortable to hold
- NeverStick coating doesn’t scratch, chip, flake or peel so there’s no danger of ingestion or inhalation
- style and colour fits in well with any kitchen decor
From the washer-up person’s perspective:
-
cleans very easily with or without a dishwasher
- the metal base is easy to clean and stays shiny for longer – usually the base of pans become discoloured due to the high temperatures used whilst cooking, but I noticed that the Scoville NeverStick base is still shiny even after a few months of daily use. As a washer-upper, you notice these things and I’m impressed!
Where can you buy the Scoville NeverStick frying pan?
There’s no need to buy other expensive well-known brands with short-lived non-stick promises, or be tempted by the false economy of buying a pack of value pans which’ll soon need replacing.
We bought our 28cm Scoville NeverStick frying pan from Asda for about £18, but it’s also available at Smedson.com, Robert Dyas, and picup.co.uk.
That’s a really good price considering Scoville NeverStick’s so much more than a non-stick coating – it’s high quality, long lasting and includes a lifetime guarantee

Hello,
I was wondering where I stand with my non stick frying pan as i bought it on 14/04/16 and i have treated the pan with great care as I like a pan that does not stick, i also always use wood or silicon hence no metal to mark it.
Now at first it was great but I still had to put a bit of oil in and it cooked omelettes with ease no stick what so ever. But now after nearly 7 months its beginning to stick which is very frustrating as the pan is still in immaculate condition and i have looked after it.
So my question is, is it life time warranty and I get a refund or is there some clause in there somewhere?
Any info will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ross
Hi Ross – when I bought my frying pan, I registered for the lifetime guarantee on ImperialGB’s website http://www.imperialgb.com/register-guarantee/, as per the instructions on the frying pan packaging. Scoville is a brand name of ImperialGB.
Please contact ImperialGB in the first instance and let them know the problems you are having with the frying pan. Don’t expect Scoville to honour their guarantee ..I had my frypan for about 6 months and it began to stick..I phoned and spoke to a very pleasant girl who said for me to send pics of pan and reciept, which I did’….
I got an incredibly curt email back saying that since I had used the pan at high temperatures they would not be replacing and wished me ” have a nice day ” What am I meant to do with a fry pan ??? toss salad ? They say in their sales blurb, that while other pans may get damaged from overheating..their wonderful pan NEVER DOES… The way I see it they have broken their contract… They should have on the lable “buyer beware !”
Hi
Sorry to say they won’t! I have an eaziglide pan and have looked after it and not used it on high heat! It’s started sticking after a year and they said I’d damaged it using too high heat! It is a pan after all!
Hi I bought a frying pan 3 weeks ago and the same is happening to mine hen I do scrambled eggs it’s like a white coat on the bottom of the pan
I bought 3 pans from Asda 9 months ago and in the first few months they were great. I started noticing that odd bits were sticking and now almost everything sticks unless im using butter or oil. Ive just spoke to a lady from Scoville and was told that these pans should be used on low or medium heat and because I have an induction hob I am using too much heat making everything stick. Looks like im stuck with pans that are no use for frying and will have to buy replacements. DONT TOUCH THESE NEVER STICK POTA AND PANS. After sales are terrible and they will point the blame for their poor quality at you.

are any scoville pans safe to use in a hot oven
Bought neverstick pan from asda.one year ago. The nevertick always sticks even when first bought.I would return it to asda but I have lost the receipt.
I have just found out it has a lifetime guarantee.
its a joke of a pan, false advertising only had ours 2 month took well care of it and my omlettes bacon or chicken stick to pan, will be telling evryone to avoid
I have purchased 2 Scoville neverstick frying pans from Asda, one small and one large, best product I have ever purchased, they are what they say NONSTICK, clean up well, I am now looking to purchase the saucepans. I strongly recommend this product. I have gone through loads of frying pans in my time, and non has been as good as this. Good price
Is the coating used safe as I’ve read even though it’s pfoa free you still use ptfe to make it up in the process before it’s burned down in the making. I’m just a bit dubious also as it’s manufactured in China where I’ve read reports on if to trust how they apply the chemical their is safe. I’ve seen other makes such as green earth by ozeri offering without ptfe and pfoa including other chemicals used not mentioned without researching. Please could you put my mind at rest and explain.
Did you ever get a reply to this as I’m wondering the same thing? Kind regards
Jacqueline
Bought one of these at Christmas 2017 as the idea of a real non stick pan really appealed to me. Unfortunately, although good, the pan always sticks especially with eggs or egg related stuff like omelets – not happy
My 20cm frying pan is very very slow t heat up.
it has difficulty in maintaining heat too.
When a stainless steel pan is put on the same place it heat quickly
I have Siemens flex iq7 induction hob
My father in law bought a set of these pans, ages ago we came to stay with him and he decided to use them as his old pans ( not scoville ). Have all burnt. Well I have to say these pans including frying pan are brilliant totally non stick and easy to clean we are planning on buying a set and taking them back to New Zealand with us
I saw your never stick frying in a friend house and i fall in love. Please, kindly, how can i get one for personal use. My friend make me to understand that it was a gift friend one of her daughter’s friend.
Please which shop can i get one
There is a comment further up that this is no better than any other pan.
I agree. I expected wonders and surprise surprise why am I not surprised at being disappointed.
No I haven’t got the receipt because I don’t keep the receipt for every single item that I have ever bought.
No I didn’t register the guarantee.
It’s a shame.
The problem is, that for the sake of 30 quid, if they don’t pay up, can you really be bothered taking them to the Small Claims Court?
Of course, I could always go and buy another pan and register it and use the receipt and then complain about the pan in a few months, using the old pan and give the new one away to a relative but firstly that’s disingenuous and secondly I am saddling the relative with a pan which is crap.
If there is a 5 year guarantee, then surely everything should be covered because these pans are not been on the market, as far as a aware, for five years.
I have had these pans for a year now, and do think there great with no issues, but have just aquired a induction hob on 6/5/2020, and none of these pans work, they are still like brand new, didn’t take out warrenty on them, as they are Easy replaceable, can u give any suggestions?
Thanks
